Mikey Nantze Jr.

Mikey Nantze is entering his first season on staff as assistant baseball coach for the Belhaven University Baseball team. 

Nantze is from Carmichael, California and is the son of Mike and Alisia Nantze. He attended Sierra College in Rocklin, California for two years and earned a scholarship to the University of Tennessee at Martin where he played Division I baseball for two years. While Mikey was attending the University of Tennessee at Martin, he studied early childhood education and graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Mikey was previously at Willamette University for the past 6 years where he coached hitting, baserunning, and catching. He was also the recruiting coordinator for the last 4 years where the team excelled both on and off the field. In the six seasons Nantze was with Willamette they went to three conference championship games, won the conference championship in 2018, and placed second in the west region losing to the national runner up.

Off the field, the baseball program graduated every player in 4 years with the team GPA never dipping below a 3.0. Also, Mikey continued the academic excellence, started by head coach Aaron Swick, where the baseball program has had 13 straight years with a team GPA above a 3.0 or better.

Coach Nantze has had many successful players with numerous personal accolades.

·         Luke Werkmeister-Martin- 2 time Academic All-American

·         Joey Faudskar- Lead the nation in stolen bases

·         Jeff Hoffman- 2021 Freshman player of the year in the Northwest Conference

·         Connor Bailey- 2019 Conference player of the Year

·         3 catchers selected to first team all-conference- Jack Brett(18), Cole Prucell(19), Mike Nelson(21)

·         2021- Lead the nation with 68 home runs and broke the school homerun record

·         2021- 7 players selected to the All-Regional team

·         2018- Lead the Northwest Conference in runs scored, hits, doubles, triples, homeruns, slugging percentage, and stolen bases

·         2018- Lead the Northwest Conference in runners caught stealing

In 2021 Mikey made the biggest decision of his life to marry the love of his life, Karly Hollis. The couple got married in Oregon at Zenith Vineyards on August 8th surrounded by their friends and family.
