Larry Wesson

Wesson is in his fifth year overall as an assistant coach with the Blazers.

He returned to the Belhaven Baseball Coaching Staff as a Volunteer Assistant Coach in 2015 after stepping away from coaching following the 2012 season with the Blazers.

Wesson spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons with Belhaven, helping to coach the Blazers to a 45-18 mark in 2011, which included a trip to the NAIA National Tournament. The Blazers followed it up with a 32-24 season in 2012.

Wesson came to Belhaven after spending four seasons at Madison-Ridgeland Academy where he guided the Patriots to 87 wins, two division I-AAA playoff semifinal appearances, one North AAA Championship and the 2010 Division I-AAA State Championship. Wesson was named 2010 AAA Coach of the Year and the Clarion-Ledger All-Metro Coach of the Year in 2010. 

The Jackson, Miss. native and standout baseball player at Woodland Hills Baptist Academy played under Hill Denson at the University of Southern Mississippi from 1990-1993 as a starter in the outfield for the Golden Eagles. Wesson was the starting left fielder on back to back 40-win and NCAA Regional teams in 1990 and 1991. The 1991 team was the Metro Conference Tournament Co-Champion with Florida State after beating the Seminoles 3-1.

Wesson is a 1993 graduate of USM with a B.S. in Business Administration.
