CONWAY, Ark. - Addi Roberts recorded seven saves as the Belhaven Women's Soccer team battled Hendrix to a scoreless draw Saturday morning at Warrior Soccer Field.
Belhaven moved to 1-0-1 on the season and remained unbeaten through its opening two matches and have yet to allow a goal this season after beginning the campaign with a 3-0 victory at Centenary.
Hendrix applied pressure early, but Roberts kept the Warriors off the board with saves in the eighth, 22nd and 31st minutes.
Kinsey Carter produced Belhaven's first scoring opportunity in the 15th minute, forcing a save from Hendrix goalkeeper Kennedy Lewis.
The Blazers created two more chances late in the opening half. Freshmen
Emma Albarado-LeDay and
Aryanna Phyfer each put an attempt on target during the final seven minutes, but Lewis stopped both efforts to send the match into halftime scoreless.
Roberts remained busy after the break, making saves in the 47th and 52nd minutes. Belhaven began to establish its attack and earned three corner kicks during the opening 20 minutes of the second half.
Abby Jordan put an attempt on frame in the 57th minute, but the Hendrix defense registered a team save to preserve the draw.
The Warriors threatened again in the 63rd minute with two shots on goal in a six-second span. Roberts turned away both attempts to complete her seven-save performance.
Belhaven generated its strongest push in the closing minutes. The Blazers earned a corner in the 88th minute before
Faith Dreyer and Carter forced consecutive saves from Lewis. Belhaven won one final corner with 25 seconds remaining, but neither side found a breakthrough before the final whistle.
Hendrix finished with a 16-7 advantage in total shots, but Belhaven placed six of its seven attempts on target. Carter led the Blazers with two shots on goal, while Dreyer recorded two attempts with one on frame. Jordan, Albarado-LeDay and Phyfer each added a shot on goal.

Kadie Craft and
Keelin Gray each played the full 90 minutes along the Belhaven back line in front of Roberts, helping the Blazers secure their second clean sheet in as many matches.
Belhaven returns to Belhaven Bowl Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to host East Central Community College in a reserve match. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
