The Series at a Glance
Belhaven is making its fourth NCAA Super Regional appearance and is looking to return to the NCAA Division III Softball World Series for the second time in three seasons after coming one game away from winning the World Series in 2024.
The Blazers have reached this point behind a deep lineup, veteran production and another strong postseason run from
Macy Funderburk in the circle. Belhaven won the CCS regular season title, captured a second straight CCS Tournament Championship, hosted an NCAA Regional for the first time and then won the regional championship at Jim McLeod Field.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh brings a different kind of challenge. The Titans won the WIAC regular season title, earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament and then battled through the St. Louis Regional with three tight wins. Wisconsin-Oshkosh opened with a 1-0 victory over Illinois College in 12 innings before defeating host Washington University in St. Louis twice by 2-1 scores.
The teams have met just once previously. Belhaven swept a doubleheader from UW-Oshkosh in 2006 in Pensacola, Florida, winning 2-1 and 5-4.

AR Sharp, the CCS Rookie Pitcher of the Year, is 9-0 with a 2.95 ERA, while

Kevin Griffin was named CCS Coach of the Year.
How Belhaven Got Here
Belhaven's postseason road started with a second straight CCS Tournament title.
The Blazers dropped their tournament opener to Maryville, then won five straight games to secure the championship and the league's automatic bid. Belhaven hit .368 during the CCS Tournament with 49 runs, 63 hits, seven doubles, three triples and three home runs.
Funderburk was named CCS Tournament MVP after going 5-0 with a 1.97 ERA across 32.0 innings. Guy hit .550 with 11 hits, one home run, eight RBI and a .609 on-base percentage, while Langston, Steverson, Bruner and
Madeline Bullock also earned spots on the CCS All-Tournament Team.
In the Belhaven Regional, the Blazers opened with a statement.
Belhaven hit four home runs in an 8-2 win over Westminster, marking the program's most home runs in an NCAA postseason game. Bryan tied the game with a two-run homer in the first, Bruner gave the Blazers the lead with a solo shot in the second, Guy followed with a three-run home run, and Steverson capped the inning with a two-run blast.
The next day, Belhaven rolled past Emory 9-1 in five innings. The Blazers scored in each of the first three innings, piled up 12 hits and used a six-run second inning to take control. Williamson went 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Steverson added two hits and two RBI.
On championship Saturday, Emory forced a deciding game with a 15-7 win in the first regional final. The Blazers had to reset quickly with their season on the line, and they did just that.
Funderburk threw a complete-game shutout in the winner-take-all game, allowing just four hits in a 4-0 win. Belhaven scored twice in the third, then added two insurance runs in the seventh on a two-run single from Gillihan. The win sent the Blazers back to the Super Regional round and gave the program its sixth 40-win season.
Funderburk was named the Belhaven Regional Most Outstanding Player. Williamson, Dunbar and Steverson were selected to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team. Williamson led Belhaven with a .545 batting average during the regional, Steverson hit .417 and drove in five runs, and Dunbar added five hits with three extra-base hits.
As a team, Belhaven hit .373 in the regional with 28 runs, 41 hits, 12 doubles and six home runs.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans
Record: 33-8-1
Conference: Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
Regional: St. Louis Regional Champion
NPI: No. 20
Super Regional Appearance: Third in program history
Last NCAA World Series Appearance: 2024
Wisconsin-Oshkosh enters the Super Regional with one of the strongest pitching and defensive profiles in Division III. The Titans rank third nationally in team ERA at 1.40, sixth in hits allowed per seven innings at 5.15, sixth in strikeout-to-walk ratio at 3.79, sixth in WHIP at 1.02, eighth in fielding percentage at .974 and 11th with 14 shutouts.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh also features three pitchers ranked inside the top 50 nationally in ERA, with Kiran Sanford sitting 17th at 1.29, Grace Nardi 23rd at 1.35, and Brianna Bougie 47th at 1.70.
The Titans are third in NCAA Division III in total ERA and are the only pitching staff in NCAA Division III with three pitchers that are top-50 in the country in ERA.
Sanford, a freshman, headlines the pitching staff. The WIAC Pitcher of the Year, WIAC Newcomer of the Year and NFCA All-Region VIII First Team selection is 16-3 with a 1.26 ERA and 168 strikeouts in 133.1 innings. Sanford has six shutouts and has held opponents to a .207 batting average.
Nardi gives the Titans another high-level arm. She is 10-1 with a 1.30 ERA, 81 strikeouts and four saves. Bougie, the 2025 WIAC Pitcher of the Year, is 7-4 with a 1.76 ERA and four saves. Together, the three have allowed just 59 earned runs in nearly 300 innings.
At the plate, Olivia Ullman leads Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a .358 batting average, 49 hits, 32 runs, 11 doubles and 10 stolen bases. Olivia Baugnet is hitting .344, Brianne Lopez is hitting .328 with 44 hits and eight steals, and Mary Kate Quaid has supplied power with four home runs and 23 RBI. Amanda Martineck has added 10 doubles and 23 RBI.
The Titans also bring championship experience. Wisconsin-Oshkosh won the WIAC regular season title with an 11-3 league record, claiming the sixth conference championship in program history. Sanford, Nardi and Ullman were named First Team All-WIAC, while Bougie, Lopez and Quaid earned honorable mention honors.
How Wisconsin-Oshkosh Got Here
Wisconsin-Oshkosh opened with a 1-0 win over Illinois College in 12 innings. Lopez delivered the walk-off single in the bottom of the 12th to score Morgan Miller, giving the Titans the only run of the game. Sanford, Bougie and Nardi combined for 17 strikeouts and helped strand eight Illinois College baserunners.
The defense was just as important. Quaid threw out a runner trying to steal in the third inning, and Haylie Wittman, Martineck and Quaid combined on a key play in the sixth to cut down a runner at the plate and keep the game scoreless.
In the winner's bracket final, Wisconsin-Oshkosh rallied late to beat host WashU 2-1. The Titans were held to one hit through six innings before scoring twice in the top of the seventh. A bunt from Miller forced a throwing error that brought home the tying run, and Wittman followed with the go-ahead RBI single down the left-field line.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh then finished the regional with another 2-1 win over WashU in the championship game. Trailing 1-0 in the fourth inning after a long rain delay, Wittman delivered a two-run double to left center that gave the Titans the lead. Nardi retired the final nine WashU hitters to close out the title.
Wittman was named the St. Louis Regional Most Outstanding Player. Bougie and Nardi joined her on the All-Tournament Team.
Across the regional, Wisconsin-Oshkosh went 3-0 while allowing just two runs in 26.0 innings. The Titans posted a 0.54 ERA, struck out 27 hitters and did not commit an error.
Matchup to Watch
The biggest storyline is clear: Belhaven's offense against Wisconsin-Oshkosh's pitching and defense.
Belhaven has scored 360 runs and hit 38 home runs this season. The Blazers slug .541 as a team and have six regulars hitting .360 or better.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh has allowed only 70 runs all season. The Titans own a 1.39 ERA, have thrown 14 shutouts and bring three reliable arms into the series. They also rarely give opponents extra chances defensively.
Belhaven's lineup will try to apply pressure early and create big innings, something it did throughout the Belhaven Regional. Wisconsin-Oshkosh will try to keep games close, defend cleanly and find timely hits late, which is exactly how the Titans won the St. Louis Regional.

What Fans Should Know
This Super Regional has two clear identities.
Belhaven brings the home-field energy, a powerful lineup and a team that has already responded under pressure several times this postseason. The Blazers won five straight games to claim the CCS Tournament title, then bounced back from a regional championship loss to Emory by winning the deciding game 4-0.
Wisconsin-Oshkosh brings a pitching staff that can shorten games, a defense that rarely gives anything away and a team comfortable in one-run situations. The Titans won all three games in the St. Louis Regional by one run and did not commit an error all weekend.
For fans coming to Jim McLeod Field, Game 1 will set the tone. If Belhaven's offense gets rolling early, the Blazers can put pressure on one of the best pitching staffs in Division III. If Wisconsin-Oshkosh keeps the game tight into the late innings, the Titans have already shown they can win that type of game.
By Friday afternoon, weather-permitting, (fingers crossed for good weather), one team will be headed to Salem.
