ATLANTA, Ga. - Belhaven Softball cleaned up in this week's Collegiate Conference of the South awards after a 4-0 stretch to close the regular season.

Maryanna Guy was named CCS Player of the Week, Macy Funderburk earned Pitcher of the Week, and AR Sharp picked up Rookie of the Week honors. The trio helped power Belhaven to doubleheader sweeps of Asbury and LaGrange, as the Blazers outscored opponents 37-7 on the week and improved to 32-8 overall and 15-1 in CCS play.  

Maryanna Guy - Player of the Week
Guy didn't get a ton of at-bats, but she made just about every one count.

The junior went 4-for-7 with four extra-base hits, including two doubles, a triple, and a home run. She drove in seven runs and posted a 1.571 slugging percentage for the week. Her biggest swing came in the Asbury series when she cleared the bases with a three-run double during a five-run inning that gave Belhaven control early.  

On the season, Guy has been one of the most consistent bats in the lineup, hitting .412 with 49 hits, 14 doubles, eight home runs, and 41 RBI, earning her first CCS Player of the Week honor.  

Macy Funderburk - Pitcher of the Week
Funderburk was lights out out of the bullpen.

She picked up two wins and threw 8.2 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out 12. Opponents hit just .077 against her. In game one against Asbury, she came in early and settled things down, striking out nine over six innings and giving up just one hit the rest of the way. She followed that with another clean outing against LaGrange, tossing 2.2 shutout innings to help close out the win.  

Funderburk is now 10-4 on the year with a 1.75 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 60 innings. This is the fourth Pitcher of the Week award of her career and her second this season.

AR Sharp - Rookie of the Week
Sharp gave Belhaven two strong starts and kept opponents from getting anything going early.

The freshman went 2-0 with 6.3 scoreless innings, allowing six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. She opened the week with 3.1 scoreless innings against Asbury, working around a few baserunners and keeping the shutout intact. She followed that with another solid outing against LaGrange, going 3.2 innings without allowing a run while striking out four.  

Sharp is now 9-0 this season with a 2.90 ERA and 62 strikeouts across 58 innings and marks her second career Rookie of the Week honor.

The Blazers secured the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CCS Tournament, where they will play the winner of LaGrange and Maryville on Thirsday at 10:00 AM.
