JACKSON, Miss. - Belhaven sophomore
Tarryn Woodall has been named the CCS Player of the Week after leading the Blazers with 30 kills during a 1-1 week.
The Moody, Ala. native averaged 3.75 kills and 3.13 digs per set across the two matches, totaling 25 digs, two block assists and two assists.
Woodall led Belhaven with 22 kills and 15 digs in Tuesday's 3-1 win at LaGrange, hitting .281 as the Blazers rallied after dropping the opening set to complete a regular-season sweep of the Panthers.
She delivered at key points in the comeback. With LaGrange within 23-21 in both the second and third sets, Woodall put away a kill immediately following a Belhaven timeout to give the Blazers set point. In the fourth, she supplied a kill during a six-point run that turned a 10-9 deficit into a 15-10 lead, then delivered another to set up match point at 24-18.
Woodall finished with 47 kills across Belhaven's two wins over LaGrange this season, following her 25-kill performance in the October 6 meeting.
Against conference leader Covenant on Saturday, Woodall added eight kills and 10 digs. She teamed with
Cami Davis for a block that put Belhaven ahead 10-9 during a four-point run in the opening set, then broke a 20-20 tie with a kill. The Blazers went on to win the set 29-27 after Covenant had won 33 of its first 34 CCS sets.
The award is Woodall's first CCS weekly honor this season and the second of her career. She previously earned CCS Rookie of the Week recognition on November 3, 2025.
Through 23 matches, Woodall leads Belhaven with 284 kills, averaging 3.42 per set. She has also contributed 218 digs, 35 service aces and 24 total blocks.
Belhaven (11-12, 6-5 CCS) closes conference play Tuesday, November 3, at Huntingdon. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Montgomery, Alabama.
