MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Belhaven outshot Huntingdon 16-9 but could not break through Saturday night, playing the Hawks to a 0-0 draw in its CCS regular season finale at the Samford Soccer Complex.

The Blazers finished the regular season 8-7-2 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play, good for the No. 3 seed in the CCS tournament.

Huntingdon goalkeeper Trent Wineberg was tested early. Wyatt Dupre forced saves in the fourth and 12th minutes, and Wineberg stopped Diego Sarzalejo's attempt in the 15th. Huntingdon had a spell of pressure midway through the half, but Belhaven blocked two shots from Aiden Hovatter. Justin Ramirez made his first save on an Edson Gonzalez attempt in the 31st minute to keep the match scoreless at halftime.

Belhaven took 11 of its 16 shots after the break. Adrian Sanchez had two early looks, and the Blazers earned all four of their corner kicks in the second half, but the best chances came late. Wineberg turned away Dupre twice in the 78th and 79th minutes. Ramirez answered with saves on Hovatter and Jordan Bryant in quick succession in the 80th.

Dupre forced one more stop in the 86th minute. Sarzalejo had a shot blocked in the 88th before Aiden Paz sent Belhaven's final attempt high.

Dupre led all players with seven shots, five on goal. Wineberg finished with six saves, while Ramirez made four for the Blazers. Huntingdon held a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. The clean sheet was Belhaven's sixth straight against the Hawks dating to 2022.

Third-seeded Belhaven will host No. 6 Huntingdon in a CCS quarterfinal rematch Saturday, October 31, at 2:00 pm at Belhaven Bowl Stadium. The winner advances to face No. 2 Covenant in the semifinals November, 6 in Huntsville, Ala.
