ATLANTA, Ga. - Belhaven swept the Collegiate Conference of the South weekly men's basketball awards, as
CJ Minton was named CCS Player of the Week and
Braylon Dame earned Rookie of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday.
The Blazers collected the awards after posting a pair of conference victories, continuing an undefeated start to CCS play and continuing a five-game winning streak.
Player of the Week - CJ Minton
Junior guard
CJ Minton (Indianola, Mississippi) played a key role in Belhaven's two conference wins, providing consistent scoring and efficiency from the perimeter. Minton averaged 16.5 points and five rebounds per game across the two contests while helping anchor the Blazers on both ends of the floor. He shot 9-for-17 (.529) from three-point range across the two victories.
His top performance of the week came in Belhaven's win over LaGrange, where he finished with 21 points and seven rebounds.
Freshman guard
Braylon Dame (Moulton, Alabama) earned his second CCS Rookie of the Week award this season after providing steady production off the bench during Belhaven's unbeaten conference week. Dame averaged 11.0 points per game across two contests. He highlighted his week with a 14-point performance in the Blazers' win over Asbury.
Belhaven returns to action later this week as they head to Lookout Mountain, Georgia on Friday to take on Covenant. Tip-off is set for 5:00 PM.
