JACKSON - The Belhaven Football team fell to #12 ranked Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium in their final non-conference game before USA South play begins in two weeks time.

The Blazers' defense stood tall early, forcing on a turnover on downs near midfield on the visitors' opening drive of the game before keeping the Falcons' off the scoreboard with short field after a turnover on the Blazers' first play from scrimmage.

From there, the high-powered UWRF offense though proved difficult to keep up with as the Belhaven offense struggled to move the ball consistently which in turn, put the Blazers' defense on the back foot.

Tyler Miller finished the game with a team-high 10 tackles while Wyatt Beck, Luke Handy and Icarius Hodgin all had nine tackles apiece. Dee Gray and Cornelius Clay each had a pair of pass breakups while punter Kyle Norris, boomed three punts over 50 yards on the day.

The Blazers will head into a bye week with a 1-2 record through non-conference action before opening up USA South play at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium on Saturday, October 4th against Brevard.
