BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Belhaven Men's Soccer Team dropped a 4-1 decision to Oglethorpe on Wednesday evening at the Vestavia Hills Soccer Complex.
The Blazers scored first in the ninth minute when Wesley Bloodworth converted off an assist from Matt Smith, giving Belhaven an early 1-0 advantage. The Petrels responded in the 31st minute to even the score heading into halftime.
Oglethorpe carried their momentum into the second half, scoring three unanswered goals, including two in the final seven minutes, to pull away with the 4-1 decision.
Both teams tallied 14 shots, while Belhaven had five on goal.
The Blazers move up 2-1-1 and return home for their next match on Friday vs. Tougaloo at Belhaven Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 PM.
