MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Belhaven Softball team booked their spot in the CCS Tournament Championship for a third straight season on Friday as they took down top seed and hosts, Huntingdon, by a 2-1 scoreline.

The game was a pitcher's duel for seven innings with Macy Funderburk getting the start in the circle and going the distance for the Blazers in a dominant performance. Anna Caime got Belhaven going in the top of the 1st with a solo home run, her 9th of the campaign.

The Blazers then would add on an insurance run in the top half of the 4th as Ellie Jones singled with the bases loaded to plate a run which would go on top prove to be the game winner. Huntingdon pulled a run back in the bottom half of the same frame, taking advantage of a defensive miscue from Belhaven, but were unable to muster any big offense beyond.

With the victory, the Blazers will once again play for the CCS Championship with hopes of taking back the conference crown and securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Belhaven has featured in each of the league's conference championships since the CCS was formed ahead of the 2022-23 academic year.

The Blazers will face Huntingdon once again in the championship round with Belhaven holding the winner's bracket advantage. Game one of the championship round ins currently slated for 12:00 PM on Saturday in Montgomery with an 'If Necessary' game slated for 3:00 PM.
