MARSHALL, Texas - The Belhaven Softball team fell in their Marshall Regional opener to No. 3 seed St. Thomas, 3-1, on Thursday afternoon at Jason Bell Park.
It was a pitcher's duel in the early going as starter
Macy Funderburk and her St. Thomas counterpart traded zeroes through the first three innings. A sacrifice fly in the fourth gave the Celts a 1-0 advantage before a double in the fifth doubled their lead.
St. Thomas added another in the sixth to go up 3-0 heading into the final frame, and
Colby Hollinger lit up the scoreboard with a solo shot to left for the Blazers' lone run of the contest.
