IRVING, Texas - The Belhaven Baseball team wrapped up their regular season on Saturday with a 9-3 win over the University of Dallas which will send the Blazers into the postseason with a 28-11 record overall. The victory was a historic one for the Blazers who finish with the most regular season wins in a campaign as an NCAA program and the most overall since 2015 when they won 33 games as an NAIA program.
Belhaven got the scoring started early, plating five runs in the 2nd inning including three on a bases-loaded triple from
JD Weed. The two teams would trade runs in the middle innings with
Blake McCarthy and
Hunter Harrell each pushing across a run to help maintain the Blazers lead.
Despite a run in the 8th from the hosts, Belhaven was able to put the game away in the 9th with a pair of runs driven in by
Tristan Pearson and
Blake McCarthy before
John Wade come in from the bullpen to put close the win out.

Next up for the Blazers is the CCS Tournament which is set to begin on Wednesday, April 30th in Maryville, Tennessee. The Blazers are slated to be the 2nd seed in the tournament and will face No. 5 Huntingdon in the opening round.
