JACKSON - The Belhaven Baseball team dropped the 2025 Cowboy Maloney Series opener on Tuesday night, falling 7-3 to Millsaps at Twenty Field.
The Majors opened the scoring in the second before plating two more in the following inning to take a 3-0 lead. Belhaven got on the board in the top of the fourth when
Josh Neutze was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score a run.
The hosts added another in the home half, but the Blazers got a run back in the fifth on an RBI double from
Hunter Harrell. Millsaps scored two in the following frame to take a 6-2 lead into the latter innings.
Harrell continued his strong night at the plate with a solo home run to left to cut the lead to 6-3, but the Majors capped the scoring with a run in the eighth to grab a 7-3 win.
Belhaven will look to get back into the win column this weekend when they host Covenant for a three-game series at Trustmark Park. First pitch is set for 6:00 PM.
