COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Belhaven Softball team fell in a pair of games against ranked opposition on Saturday during the second day of the NFCA Division III Leadoff Classic.
Game One vs. No. 18 Pfeiffer (Loss 5-6)
The Belhaven bats got off to a great start in the opening game of the day as
Ellie Jones blasted her 7th home run of the early season in the first before
Reagan Bryan launched a two-run shot in the second.
Belhaven led 5-0 heading to the bottom of the fourth inning before Pfeiffer got on the board. Despite the hot start in the first four innings, it was Pfeiffer who controlled the late innings and overcame a 5-3 deficit in the bottom of the seventh including back-to-back home runs to walk the game off.

Game Two vs. No. 22 Redlands (Loss 12-9)
The second game of the day was a high-scoring affair with Redlands scoring a pair in the opening inning before the Blazers responded with a two-run home run from
Anna Caime. Belhaven would once again respond in the bottom of the third as they wiped out a three-run deficit and leveled the game at 5-5.
Belhaven and Redlands would trade runs throughout the game until the seventh when Redlands tacked on two runs to their lead and the Blazers were unable to answer.

Belhaven will wrap up their weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic tomorrow as they face off against Spalding University and fellow 2024 NCAA World Series team, No. 7 Case Western Reserve.
