ATLANTA - Six members of the Belhaven Men's Basketball team have been named among the Collegiate Conference of the South's All-CCS teams as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Jordan Marshall,
Jacob Reese and
Jonathan Lucas eached landed All-CCS First Team spots while
DeMarcus Powe and
Jermario Hersey were named to the All-CCS Second Team. Senior
Todd Larkin was named as the Blazers' representative on the All-CCS Sportsmanship Team.
Jordan Marshall was named to the All-CCS FIrst Team for the second time and earned the third All-CCS nod of his career. Marshall led the Blazers in scoring during conference action this season averaging 20.3 points per game. Marshall averaged at team-high 5.1 assists per contest during league play.
Jacob Reese was named to the All-CCS FIrst Team for the second time in his Belhaven career. The 2023-24 CCS Sixth Man of the Year played a starring role for the Blazers averaging a double-double with 14.1 points per game and 14.0 rebounds per game in conference play. Reese led the CCS in rebounding and ranks 4th in the nation in rebounding average.
Jonathan Lucas was named to the All-CCS First Team, the first All-CCS selection of his Blazers' career. Lucas averaged a double-double in conference play this season scoring 11.7 points per game to go with 10.3 rebounds. Lucas joined teammate
Jacob Reese as two of just three players to average a double-double in league play.
Jermario Hersey was named to the All-CCS Second Team, the first All-Conference selection for his career. Hersey averaged double-figure scoring in conference action this season scoring 10.9 points per game while also joining teammate
Neal Terry as the Blazers' joint blocks leaders in team action.
DeMarcus Powe was named to the All-CCS Second Team in his first season with the Blazers. Powe averaged 9.5 points per game, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while acting as one of the Blazers' primary ball-handlers this year.
Senior
Todd Larkin was named to the All-CCS Sportsmanship Team serving as one of the Blazers' locker room leaders this season.Â
The Blazers return to action this Friday as they travel to Maryville, Tennessee for the CCS Tournament. As the No. 2 seed in the tournament, the Blazers have a bye to the semifinals of the tournament where they'll play with winner of Huntingdon and Piedmont.Â
