LaGRANGE, Ga. - Belhaven Football closed out the road stretch of their season with a 38-6 loss at LaGrange on Saturday afternoon at Callaway Stadium.
The Blazers struggled to gain momentum offensively, managing just 216 total yards compared to 417 for LaGrange. Belhaven was limited to 12 rushing yards on 18 attempts, while LaGrange found success on the ground with 276 yards and four touchdowns.
Belhaven's lone score came late in the third quarter when
Brock Morris connected with
TJ Hatch for a seven-yard touchdown pass, capping a 67-yard drive. Morris finished 19-for-31 for 198 yards and one touchdown, while Hatch led all receivers with six catches for 71 yards.
John Davis added five receptions for 79 yards.
Defensively,
Dee Gray and
Icarius Hodgin led Belhaven with six tackles each. The Blazers recorded seven tackles for loss, including stops by
Tyler Miller,
Reece Benoit, and
Colton Jones.
Cornelius Clay added an interception in the second quarter.
The loss drops Belhaven to 6-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play.The Blazers wrap up their regular season next weekend when they host Huntingdon for senior day. Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM.
