LAGRANGE, Ga. -Â The Belhaven Women's Soccer team earned their third straight conference clean sheet on Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 4-0 win over LaGrange College.
Belhaven set the tone early, dominating possession and generating a series of dangerous chances. The breakthrough came in the 13th minute when
Reagan Nichols capitalized on a penalty kick. Following another foul in the penalty box in the 26th minute, Nichols came back to deliver her second goal of the afternoonand give the Blazers a 2-0 lead heading into halftime. It was Nichols' first career multi-goal game of her career with the Blazers.
Belhaven continued to control the match after halftime, outscoring LaGrange 13-1 in the second half.
Emma Antonoplos netted her fourth goal of the season in the 55th minute, while
Kelly McLaughlin added the final goal for a 4-0 win.
Regining CSC Defensive Player of the Week
Addi Roberts,
Sidney Roest and
Ella Field combined for the shutout, with Roberts picking up one save in 60 minutes of action.
The Blazers improve to 6-3-2 (3-1 CCS), and will return home on Saturday, October 4th, for the beginning of a three-match homestand when they take on Wesleyan at 6:00 PM.
