JACKSON - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to visiting East Texas Baptist on Saturday night inside Belhaven Bowl Stadium.
Belhaven opening the scoring early with a 12th minute goal from Ally Davis, her first of the season. The Tigers responded eight minutes later with a goal of their own to draw level at one apiece.
Both clubs traded opportunities throughout the rest of the match, but it was ETBU finding the breakthrough in the 79th minute to take a 2-1 advantage late. Belhaven could not find the equalizer in the final 10 minutes as they fell to 1-1 on the young season.
Despite the loss, the Blazers outshot the Tigers 14-11 and produced four more corner kick opportunities than the opposition.
Belhaven will look to bounce back on Monday with a quick trip north to Memphis to take on Rhodes. Start time is set for 4:00 PM.
