VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Sewanee in neutral site action on Saturday. The Blazers led 2-0 before the Tigers scored twice in the second half to even the match.
Last week's CCS Rookie of the Week
Wyatt Dupre made his presence felt immediately after checking in as the freshman opening the scoring in the 38th minute off of a throw in from
Isaiah Tye. The Blazers found the back of the net quickly in the second 45 with
Wesley Bloodworth beating the Tigers' goalkeeper in the 50th minute to go up 2-0.
Sewanee responded quickly with a goal of their own to cut the lead in half. The Tigers found the equalizer in the 58th minute off of a free kick just outside of the box. The final half-hour saw several chances for both teams, primarily Belhaven, but neither could find a third as the match ended in a draw.
Belhaven returns to action on Wednesday, September 25th when they travel to Memphis to take on Rhodes. Match time is set for 4:00 PM.
