ATLANTA - One day after taking down No. 20 Emory in a strong 3-1 scoreline, the Belhaven Men's Soccer team picked up another solid early season result with a scoreless draw against Oglethorpe.
The match wasn't without opportunities as both clubs finished with double-digit shot attempts on the day. The Blazers tallied 12 total shots including four on target with the total shots split evenly between the two halves.Â
Belhaven also withstood strong pressure from Oglethorpe who totaled 15 shots and seven on target.
Danny Bahena, who made his second start between the sticks for the Blazers, tallied seven saves in the clean sheet victory and has allowed just one goal on 31 shots faced in the first two matches of the year.
The early season contest was a good opportunity for the Belhaven coaching staff to get plenty of the team game action with 29 different players seeing the field against Oglethorpe.
Belhaven will have a busy week ahead with three matches across five days beginning with a match against Tougaloo on Tuesday. Kickoff against the Bulldogs is set for 6:30 PM.
