LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Belhaven Baseball team came up short in game one of their series against Covenant 6-4 on Friday afternoon.
After a quiet two innings, the hosts would strike first in the bottom of the third with a solo home run. The Scots bats caught fire in the fourth with a five run inning that would give them a 6-0 advantage.
Brett Sanchez responded well after his slow start, holding the hosts scoreless after inning four as well as finishing with six strikeouts on the day for the Blazers. Belhaven's offense found some life in the sixth, as
Hunter Harrell helped the Blazers get on the board with an RBI double.
The Blazers continued to make a push for the lead as they proceeded to draw in three more runs in the seventh to cut the deficit to two. Despite the late comeback, Belhaven would fall short with a 6-4 final.

The Blazers will look to bounce back as they continue their series with Covenant in a doubleheader Saturday. First pitch will take place at 11:00 AM with game two to follow right after.
