JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Softball team was back at McLeod Field for the first time since February on Tuesday and took down Birmingham-Southern in a 2-0 shuout to improve to 23-3 on the season.

The No. 8 ranked Blazers scored in early in the low-run affair, plating a run in the bottom of the 1st when Katie Jo Richardson plated Madi Miller on a bases loaded fielder's choice. Kennedy Carruth kept the Panthers quiet while in the circle holding the one-run Belhaven lead through three frames.

Natalie Parker tallied a one-out triple in the bottom of the 4th and scored the Blazers only other run on the afternoon on an Anna Caime sacrifice fly.

The Blazers return to action on Thursday when they host LaGrange College in a return to CCS play. Belhaven will host the Panthers for a doubleheader set to start at 5:00 PM.
