MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Belhaven Baseball team went down to the wire on the final day of the Berry Invitational, falling just short to Greensboro 10-8.
The Pride struck first by scoring two runs in the first inning to gain the upper hand. The Blazers responded with three runs in the second inning to grab the lead.
After Greensboro scored three runs in the third,
Owen Abney stepped up for Belhaven, hitting his second grand slam in as many days to give the Blazers a 7-5 lead.
The Blazers would get one more run in to take an 8-6 lead in the seventh. The Pride offense continued to create runs, scoring four times across the next two innings. The Blazers made one last push at the lead, but would come up just close by a final score of 10-8 to close out the Berry Invitational.
