JACKSON - The Belhaven Men's Basketball team fell to Ozarks on Saturday afternoon, 69-65, to wrap up the Millsaps Tournament.
The Blazers and Eagles were locked in a close battle for much of the contest with neither side opening up more than a single-digit advantage across the 40 minutes. The three-point offense was a struggle for the Blazers on the day and played a role in the defeat as the Blazers shot just 2-17 from beyond the arc.
Despite the loss,
Jordan Marshall had a strong day, leading all scorers with 19 points while
Jacob Reese narrowly missed out on a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.
Jonathan Lucas rounded out the trio of Blazers in double figures with 11 points on Saturday.
The defeat sees Belhaven fall to 4-2 on the season and the season-series evened up between Belhaven and Ozarks who have squared off twice already on the early season.
The Blazers will enjoy the Thanksgiving break before returning to action on December 2nd to take on Southeastern Baptist at Rugg Arena. Tipoff is set for 6:00 PM.
