LONGVIEW, Texas - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team earned a hard-fought draw on Thursday as the finished level at 1-1 against LeTourneau University.
The former conference foes battled it out in an even first half that saw neither team able to find a breakthrough through the first 40 minutes.. The goalkeepers for both teams were involved heavily through in the opening 45 minutes as Belhaven keeper

It was the Blazers who were able to find the first breakthrough as
Sofi Restrepo opened her 2023 account with a swift finish in the 43rd minute. Restrepo's goal capped off a first have that saw the Blazers generate eight total shot attempts and five attempts on target.Â
Belhaven was able to protect their one-goal lead for the bulk of the second half until the hosts got a late equalizer in the 86th minute to draw level at 1-1. That equalizer was the last major action of the game as Belhaven still grabbed a positive result in their first road match of the season.
The Blazers continue their brief tour of Texas on Saturday when they travel to Marshall, Texas to face off against East Texas Baptist University. Kick off against the Tigers is set for 3:30 PM.
