LONGVIEW, Texas - The Belhaven Men's Soccer team returned to the pitch on Thursday night, taking down LeTourneau 2-1 in the first road trip of the young season. The Blazers used a pair of second-half goals to outlast the YellowJackets and run their record to 2-0-0.

The first half was even throughout with both teams having a couple of opportunities but nothing to show for it. The Blazers out-shot the hosts 7-4 with two of those seven on goal in the opening 45. Belhaven also had a pair of corners but were unable to capitalize.

The Blazers wasted no time in the second half as Koby Rhone netted his first goal as a Blazer in the 47th minute. Belhaven continued to stay on the attack with several chances at the midway point of the half, and Wesley Bloodworth was able to beat the YellowJacket keeper to go up 2-0 in the 62nd minute.

LeTourneau drew within a goal in the 77th minute, but the Blazers held strong over the final minutes to notch a tough 2-1 road victory over the YellowJackets. 

Belhaven out-shot LeTourneau 17-8 for the match and 9-5 in the shots on goal department. Goalkeeper Max Rudolph had another impressive performance in goal, tallying four saves on the night.

The Blazers continue the ASC tour in Texas with a match against East Texas Baptist on Saturday, September 9th. Kickoff in Marshall is set for 1:00 PM.
