Â
Shreveport, La. -The Belhaven Women's Soccer team lost to the Ladies of Centenary College 1-0 Tuesday night.
Â
The Blazers and Ladies both got off to a slow start in the first half with neither team jumping out ahead. The rest of the first half was more of the same with both teams dominating on the defensive side.Â
Â
After a long lightning delay, both teams resumed play at the start of the second half. The game continued to remain scoreless as the Blazers struggled to get shots off. The Blazers continued to fight defensively and did not allow Centenary to take advantage of their offensive struggles. Unfortunately, in the 81
st minute, Centenary scored and took the lead and would go on to win the match. The match was a defensive stalemate with Belhaven having four shots on goal, while Centenary recorded two.
Â
The Blazers will look to bounce back in their Conference opener at Berea College on Saturday September 16 at 12:00 PM.
