ROME, Ga. - A day after defeating LaGrange 5-0 in the First Round of the Collegiate Conference of the South Championship, the Belhaven Men's Tennis team fell by that same margin to 2-seeded Piedmont in the Semifinals.
The Blazers came up empty in three Doubles matches before dropping a pair of Singles to secure the victory for Piedmont. Belhaven ends the 2023 season with a record of 7-7 (4-2 CCS), marking the highest win total since the 2018 campaign.
Despite the loss, there was a bright spot on Friday for the Men's Tennis program as
Gaspar Meda was named the CCS Player of the Year after going undefeated in league Singles competition this season.
Meda was also named to the All-CCS First Team alongside teammate
Abraham Gonzalez. Gonzalez earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team as well.
