JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Softball team cruised to a doubleheader sweep of Agnes Scott in conference play on Monday behind a stunning no-hitter from
Kennedy Carruth and an offensive outburst by the Blazers' bats.
GAME ONE
Belhaven run-ruled the Scotties in the first game of the day taking down Agnes Scott 8-0 behind a five-inning no-hitter from Blazers' ace
Kennedy Carruth. Belhaven's bats opened the scoring in the bottom of the 2nd inning with a run off an RBI single from
Hailey Warren.
The Blazers then added a second run in the third inning when
Ellie Jones' put the ball in play scoring
Madi Miller. In the bottom of the fourth the Blazers added another run to their lead with an RBI double from
Anna Caime.
Alongside Carruth's dominance, Belhaven would put the game to rest in the bottom of the fifth frame with five runs to run-rule the Scotties.
Sydney Runnels started the rally with a base hit that scored a pair of runs before
Macy Ziskin also picked up an RBI hit.
A defensive error by the Scotties put Belhaven in front 7-0 before
