Blazers Score Four Goals in Win Over Birmingham Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Belhaven University Blazers netted a team-high four goals in the win versus Birmingham Southern on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play. 

The Blazers got on the board first in the 21st minute when Isabella Villagrand scored her first goal of the season to give the Green and Gold the 1-0 advantage. The Blazers didn't waste any time as Macy Mathers scored her first goal of the year in the 30th minute to extend their lead to 2-0. 

Haley Ruckle netted her second goal of the season after a handball was called in the box to give the Green and Gold the comfortable 3-0 lead at the halftime break. The Blazers tacked on another goal when Jade Hall scored her first career goal to give the Blazers the 4-0 shutout victory. 

As a team, the Blazers posted 24 shots and 15 shots on-goal in the victory over the Panthers. Julianne Wilson posted 90 minutes in goal and tallied four saves.  

The Blazers will return to action on Tuesday, September 13 against Centenary College Ladies inside the Belhaven Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
