AUSTIN, Texas – The Belhaven University men's basketball team season came to a close after a 96-62 loss to the Concordia Texas Tornados on the road in conference play.
The Blazers quickly jumped out to a 6-2 lead early on, but the Tornados responded going on a 13-0 run to make the score 15-6 at the 15:30 mark of the first half. Concordia extended their lead to 19 points at the halftime break and made the score 53-34 to close the first half.
Belhaven struggled from the field in the second half as the Tornados continued to shoot well from the floor and shot 85.71 percent from the charity stripe in the second half. The Blazers could not find any momentum in the final half as the Tornados defeated the Blazers 96-62 in the final game of the season for the Green and Gold.
Arother Ratliff led the Blazers with 18 points and shot 60 percent from the floor.
Matthew McMillan finished the contest going 3-for-7 from long range and registered a block.
Luke Couch had 30 minutes of action and shot 50 percent from the field and 50 percent from the free throw line.
The Blazers finished the 2021-22 season with an 8-12 overall record and 5-11 in conference play.
