JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven University men's soccer team collected their fifth tie of the season on Saturday afternoon with a 2-2 draw against Collegiate Conference of the South foe LaGrange College. Belhaven moves to 5-5-5 on the season and currently holds a 1-2-2 record in CCS play.
The visitors got on the scoreboard first in the 4
th minute as LaGrange took the early advantage.
Jacob Requilman leveled the contest at 1-1 in the 11
th minute off of a cross by
Julian Carreira. The Blazers and Panthers had opportunities to score before the halftime break, but the score remained 1-1 after 45 minutes of play.
Jacob Requilman netted is second goal of the match in the 50
th minute of play to give him his second goal of the season. The Panthers would respond in the 56
th minute to even up the match. The Blazers put pressure on LaGrange late in the contest, but could not find the back as the score halted at 2-2 at the end of the contest.
Belhaven collected eight shots in the contest, as
Jacob Requilman and
Aleksander Harris registered a team-high two shots for the Green and Gold. Goalkeeper
Max Rudolph posted 90 minutes in goal and had two saves.
The Blazers will return to the pitch to take on Mississippi University for Women on Tuesday, October 18
th in Columbus, Miss. Kickoff is set to start at 5:00 p.m.
