DECATUR, Ga. - The Belhaven Women's Soccer team won their fourth straight Collegiate Conference of the South on Thursday in a 4-0 rout of Agnes Scott and improved to 6-5-2 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.
The Blazers got a quick start on their trip out to Georgia with
Emma Antonoplos grabbing her fourth goal of the season with a 10th minute opener against the Scotties. The Blazers would continue to thrive in attack in the first half and eventually found their second with
Lizbeth Eslava notching a goal in the 31st minute of the match. In the first half the Blazers totaled over 20 shots and put a dozen on frame helping them to their 2-0 half time lead.
Belhaven got their third of the match in the 69th minute when
Kyla Shaw slotted home her third goal of the season before
Abby Linn capped off the display with her first goal of the year and Belhaven's fourth of the match in the 76th minute.
Belhaven was dominant on the day and in total, was credited with 48 shot attempts as a team and 26 shots on target. Shaw led the team with 11 shots while Antonoplos tallied 8 in the conference win. Meanwhile, three goalkeepers saw action for the Blazers with
Julianne Wilson recording four saves and
Lauren Knorr tallying two.
The Blazers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Macon, Georgia to face Wesleyan College as conference play continues. Kickoff against Wesleyan is set for 11:00 AM CT.
