BELTON, Texas - The Belhaven University Women's Soccer team falls 1-0 in overtime against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru in American Southwest Conference play. With the loss, Belhaven moves to 7-6-1 overall and 2-5-1 in conference play.
The Blazers and Cru went back and forth in the first half as neither team could find the back of the net to bring the score to 0-0. UMHB had six shots in the first half compared to the Blazers two shots. Belhaven could not find any rhythm offensively in the second half. UMHB had opportunities to score, but did not as they shot 12 shots in the second half. The Blazers and Cru were all tied up at the end of regulation to force overtime play. The Cru scored the golden goal in the 99th minute to give UMHB the 1-0 victory over the Blazers.
Emily Easterling registered the two shots for the Green and Gold in the match.
Julianne Wilson played all 98 minutes in net for the Blazers and registered nine saves in the contest.
The Blazers will return to action on Thursday, October 21 against the University of the Ozarks Eagles inside the Belhaven bowl Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
