JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven Women's Basketball team picked up an 84-69 win over University of the Ozarks on Saturday in their final home game of the season. 

Belhaven was able to jump out to an early lead, outscoring the visitors 12-2 in the first 2:30 of the game. Good defensive pressure helped the Blazers create turnovers and push for an 18-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. 

The Blazers would score the first four points of the second quarter but Ozarks would put together a 14-0 run taking a 25-22 lead with 4:51 left in the first half. The teams would trade baskets until Ozarks pushed their lead to 37-31 going into the half. 

To open the second half, Belhaven would score 12 straight points and regain the lead. The Blazers lead would grow to double digits with just under three minutes remaining in the third quarter and Belhaven would take a 57-42 lead into the fourth quarter. 

The Blazers kept the pressure on in the fourth quarter and push their lead to 22 points with just over two minutes to go. A late run from Ozarks would cut into the Belhaven advantage but the home team would hold on for the 84-69 win.

Senior Peyton Papenburg put up a double-double in the Blazers' final home game of the season scoring 18 points on 7-15 shooting to go with 11 total rebounds and five steals. Keke Lyles would finish with 15 points, giving her a team-leading 21st game of the year with double digit scoring. Mariah Collins, Sydney Martin and Janae Collier would all finish in double-digits for Belhaven as well. 

Two games remain for the Blazers who play at ETBU on Thursday, January 20th at 5:30 PM.
