Blazers Fall in Series Finale to Concordia

THE RUNDOWN

AUSTIN, Texas – The Belhaven University baseball team fell to the Concordia Tornados on Saturday by a final score of 12-2 in American Southwest Conference play, falling three games to none to the Tornados, not the weekend.

Belhaven struck first in the contest, with Nathan Herron giving the Blazers a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning after a single to center field that plated Trip Benson for the first run of the game.

Moments later, Evan Moore reached base on a fielders choice, yet allowed one more run to cross over the plate in the inning to extend Blazers lead to 2-0 at the end of two.

The Tornados tied the game up in the bottom of the second inning, before eventually going on to score an additional 10 runs to claim the 12-2 victory over the Blazers Saturday afternoon.
