HOW IT HAPPENED
 
First Quarter – In the opening five minutes of play, Brittany Ford made three three-pointers to give the Blazers the 9-5 advantage over the Tigers. The Blazers remained hot from behind the arc, as the Green and Gold held on to the 19-14 lead going into the second quarter.
 
Second Quarter – The Blazers continued to make buckets in the first four minutes of the second period, as BU had the slight 26-22 lead. The Tigers caught fire to knot the score up at 31 with two minutes remaining until the halftime break. Belhaven went cold from the field in the remaining minutes of the first half. The Tigers lead 35-31 going into intermission.
 
Third Quarter – The Tigers pushed the lead to nine points after Valerie Matlock made a field goal at the 7:26 mark. The Blazers rallied back to cut the lead to five points with 3:43 left in the third period. Shots were exchanged for the remainder of the period, but ETBU led 52-45 to end the third frame.
 
Fourth Quarter – The Tigers extended their lead to 12 points after Valerie Matlock made a layup at the 6:15 mark of the final frame. The Blazers could not overcome the Tigers powerful offensive attack, as the Green and Gold would fall 66-56 at the final buzzer.

BELHAVEN'S STATS
 
- Aaliyaha Thornton and Brittany Ford scored in double figures during the contest. Ford led the team with 18 points and went 6-for-8 from behind the arc, while Thornton scored 15 points and was 100 percent from the charity stripe.

- Peyton Papenburg added seven points in the contest, along with two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

- Lauren Brooks led the Blazers in the rebounding column with seven.

- As a team, the Green and Gold had 34 points in the paint and 16 points from the bench.

UP NEXT
 
The Blazers will remain at home for a matchup with LeTourneau University at 1:00 p.m. It will be the final home game on the season and Senior Day.
