HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half – Right out go the gate, the Wildcats showed why they are one of the top teams in the American Southwest Conference, opening up the game on a 6-0 run and pulling ahead 22-3 within the first four minutes of play. Down by a twenty-point deficit at one point early in the first half, Belhaven rallied from behind to pull within eight points, 34-26 with six minutes remaining in the half. The Wildcats utilized some tough officiating calls for their advantage to generate some momentum again, entering the break with a 47-32.
Second Half – Belhaven kept pace with the Wildcats for the majority of the half, not really cutting into the lead but not letting LC run away with the score, either. Belhaven matched the play of Louisiana College with moments of working within a fifteen point deficit. Yet, with five minutes left in the game, LC began to distance themselves, handing Belhaven a Tuesday night loss in conference play inside of Rugg Arena, 93-61.

BELHAVEN'S STATS
- Brosnan Cooks led Belhaven with 14 points on the night (5-of-11) including team highs in assists (3) and rebounds (6).
- Justin Jones was 5-of-8 from the field with 10 points, with four rebounds.
- Laramie Long had five rebounds along with seven points.
- Rick Hodum ended the night with nine points and four rebounds.
