CLARKVILLE, Ark. – The Belhaven University women's basketball team closed out the 2018-19 season with a 68-63 victory over the University of the Ozarks on Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter – The Eagles opened the first quarter going on an 8-3 run in the first three minutes of action.
AaLiyaha Thornton made a shot from behind the arc to tie the game up at 8-8 at the 6:31 mark. The Eagles then closed out the first quarter going on a 9-2 run, giving the Ozarks a 17-10 advantage heading into the second quarter.
Second Quarter – The Ozarks extended their lead to 11 points in the first few minutes of the second period, but the Blazers caught an offensive spark and took the 28-27 lead after
Brittany Ford drilled a three-pointer with 1:43 left until halftime. Belhaven held on to take the 30-29 lead going into intermission.
Third Quarter – The Blazers and Eagles went back and forth for the majority of the second half, until the score was knotted up at 41 apiece with 2:53 remaining in the third quarter. The Green and Gold took the lead at the 2:18 mark and did not give it back to the Eagles for the rest of the quarter, as BU lead 51-41 going into the final frame.
Fourth Quarter – BU continued to pour it on the Ozarks, as they extended their lead to 11 points at the midway point of the fourth quarter. The Eagles fought back to cut the deficit down to one possession with 31 seconds left in the game. The Green and Gold held secure the 68-63 victory over the Ozarks in the final game of the 2018-19 season.
