HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half - From the opening tip, the East Texas Baptist University Tigers controlled the contest, quickly going up 5-0 before Belhaven got on board with a free throw from Tommy McCoy. Belhaven was held to no field goals made from the court for the first four minutes of the contest, making their first bucket off a layup from Justin Jones to cut to Tigers lead 8-3. The Tigers held a twelve point, 17-5, advantage through the first ten minutes of the contest, on its way to controlling the majority of the first half as they entered the break with a 37-19 lead over Belhaven.
Second Half - ETBU took a twenty point lead, 48-28, just five minutes into the start of the second half while maintaining the momentum they have generated in the first half, throughout the second half. Belhaven could not mount any sort of comeback against the Tigers Saturday afternoon, falling to ETBU by a final score of 95-61.
