JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven University men's basketball dominated the UT Tyler Patriots on Saturday afternoon, winning by a final score of 90-66 to improve to 7-7 overall on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Through the first three minutes of the game Saturday afternoon, the Patriots looked to be in control, going up 6-1 quickly over the Blazers. The next three minutes belonged to Belhaven as the offense picked up momentum, working back to tie the game up and eventually taking an 11-9 lead over the Patriots after a layup from Austin Reed.
By the midway point of the first half, Belhaven began to take control of the game, finding themselves with a double-digit lead 27-17. Kelvin Pruitt utilized a layup and a three pointer to put Belhaven ahead by 24 points with under a minute left until the break. The Patriots were able to get two points back before the half, as Belhaven took a commanding 47-25 lead into the lockerroom.
After dominating the first half of play, the Blazers once again took control over the game in the second half. The final twenty minutes of play went in the way of the Green and Gold as Belhaven was able to complete the victory by defeating the Patriots by a final score of 90-66.
