BOTETOURT, Va. – The Belhaven University Softball team fell to Central Baptist College by a score of 5-2 in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship Game on Saturday morning.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mustangs quickly jumped on the board first in the top of the first inning, after Clark hit a bases-clearing double to bring the score to 4-0.
- In the bottom of the first inning,
Makayla Reed hit a solo home run to left field to put the Blazers on the board.
- Central Baptist plated another run in the top of the second to make the score 5-1.
- The Green and Gold loaded the bases in the bottom of the second, but could not push the runners across to end the inning.
- Belhaven loads up the bases again but comes up empty for the second straight inning.

Jordan Herring strikes out the last two Mustangs in the top of the fifth and the first two batters in the sixth to earn four straight strikeouts.
- In the bottom of the sixth,
Makayla Reed ripped an RBI single to left field to get a run back to narrow the score to 5-2
- The Blazers could not get a rally going in the seventh and fell short to bring the final score to 5-2.

Jordan Herring tossed her fifth straight complete game at the NCCAA World Series.
- Herring also had nine strikeouts in the contest.
