CLINTON, Miss. – The Belhaven University men and women's cross country teams competed in the Watson Ford Invitational on Saturday morning at Choctaw Trails.
On the women's side, Lydia Brandt led the Blazers with a 45
thplace finish and a time of 28:14.30.
Leslie Howe finished with a time of 24:53.98, while
Alyssa Veenker finished right behind Howe with a time of 31:38.30.
Susanna Reese crossed the finish line at the 33:39.90 mark. Rounding out the scoring for the Blazers was
Tamera Lairy with a time of 35:15.20.
As a team, the Blazers finished in ninth place and had 249 points.
On the men's side, David Taylor crossed the finish line first for the Blazers at the 30:10.91 mark.
Javarcea Thomas was the next Blazer to complete the race at the 30:42.08 mark, good enough for a 49
thplace finish.
Jonathan Graham finished with a time of 30:51.46.
Hunter Magno-Hester completed the race with a time of 32:13.92.
Silvanus Johnson and
Matthew Taylor rounded out the scoring on the men's side for the Green and Gold with a time of 32:21.61 and 32:22.81 respectively.
As a team, the Blazers finished in eighth place and had 207 points.
The Blazers will run next at the MC Invitational in Clinton, Miss. on Saturday, October 13. The start times are 8:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
