JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven men's basketball team fell to Louisiana College 81-59 Saturday afternoon in the 2016-17 season finale at Rugg Arena. 

Belhaven made six of its first 11 shot attempts, and with 11:24 remaining in the first half, trailed the Wildcats by just four points. But the Blazers would go without a made field goal over the next five minutes of play, and Louisiana College rattled off 13 unanswered points to take 32-15 lead. 

Belhaven shot 44 percent in the first half and made six free throws in seven attempts, but committed 12 turnovers that led to 20 Louisiana College points. 

Through the first twelve minutes of the second half, the Blazers scored just 11 points and fell behind by 25. 

Senior forward DJ Young-Beasley was able to finish his Belhaven career on a high note, knocking down two three-pointers in the final five minutes of play. 

Young-Beasley finished with eight points and three rebounds in 29 minutes of play. Junior forward Brandon Pressley paced the Blazers with 13 points while freshman guard Rick Hodum added 11 points and five rebounds. 

Taylan Grogan led all scorers with 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting. Jacquez Coleman tallied 13 points while Raheem Regis totaled 12 points and eight boards. 

Louisiana College shot 49 percent from the field and went 8-for-22 from behind the arc. The Wildcats recorded 41 rebounds to the Blazers' 29 and collected 15 second chance points. 

Belhaven wraps up the 2016-17 season with a 4-21 record while Louisiana College finishes at 9-14.
