JACKSON, Miss. – The Belhaven women's basketball team was unable to answer Millsaps College on Tuesday evening, falling to the Majors 62-41 in non-conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Millsaps made the first bucket of the game, but
Kimberly Calhoun quickly got the Blazers on the board with a layup to tie the match up 2-2.
- After a layup by
India Sims, and a made free throw from
Kimberly Calhoun the Blazers and the Majors were all knotted up at 5-5 with 6:35 remaining in the first quarter.
- The Blazers went cold the rest of the quarter and the Majors went on an 8-3 run to close out the first quarter with a score of 13-8.
- Millsaps open the second quarter going on a 5-0 run to make the score 18-8 with 7:43 remaining in the half.
- The Majors closed the first half on a 10-5 run, to go into halftime leading 28-15.

AaLiyaha Thornton drained a three-pointer to open the second half for the Blazers, to bring the score to 28-18.
- The majors would close out the third quarter going on a 16-7 run.
- In the fourth quarter, the Green and Gold were barely out scored 18-16 to close the game out.

KEY STATISTICS

AaLiyaha Thornton,
Brittany Ford, and
Alexis Caldwell led the offensive attack for the Blazers with eight points apiece.
- Thornton added six rebounds and three assists, while Ford tallied two rebounds, two assists, and shot 50 percent from behind the arc.
- Caldwell shot 50 percent from the field while grabbing four rebounds, one blocked shot, and one steal.

The Blazers will take a brief break for final examinations, and will return to Rugg Arena on Thurs, Dec 14. for a match-up against Howard Payne University. Tip-off is set for 5:30p.m.
