RICHARDSON, Texas - The Belhaven University Volleyball team was swept on Saturday afternoon at the University of Texas at Dallas in American Southwest Conference play.
The Blazers have lost three consecutive matches as they drop to 11-9 overall and 6-4 in ASC action.
The Comets dominated the opening set against the Blazers with a decisive 25-11 victory.
Belhaven continued to struggle as they trailed 18-7 in the second set and ultimately faltered 25-14 to go down two sets to none.
The Green and Gold put together a solid effort in the third set, and led 10-6 early on, but UTD rallied from behind to claim a 25-20 set victory as they clinched match.
Belhaven tallied 24 kills and produced a .094 hitting percentage.
Carissa Pauda, Blaykleigh Smythe, and Hope Tourney each tabbed five kills in the loss.
Tourney also registered two blocks, along with one block from Smythe. Kelly Aholt also recorded two solo blocks and 19 assists.
Sydney McEachern added 11 digs while both Allie Perkins and Bekah Williams notched nine and five digs.
Belhaven will return to Texas next weekend as they will compete in the ASC Crossover Challenge in Abilene on Friday and Saturday.
