JACKSON, Miss. - The Belhaven University women's soccer team was shutout 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium to the University of the Ozarks in American Southwest Conference play.
Before the match, the Blazers honored their five seniors Amber Leigh Thomas, Jessica Mahoney, Reagan Hern, Dominique Farias, and Haley Merrell.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Despite having many good looks in the first half, the Blazers were held scoreless.
- The Ozarks tallied their first goal of the contest in the 18th minute off of a cross inside the box to take a 1-0 advantage.
- The Eagles struck again in the 33rd minute after a miscue by the Blazers' defense allowed the Ozarks to score easily from inside the box to take a 2-0 lead.
- In the second half, Belhaven continued on with their offensive attack. Belhaven controlled the ball and possession for a majority of the half, but were unable to find the back of the net.
- On a positive note, the Belhaven defense held the Eagles scoreless in the second half. ____________________________________________________________________________________
KEY STATISTICS
- Belhaven finished the contest with 11 shots, outshooting the Eagles by four at 11-7.
- Erica Rempel and Alex Trammell both registered three shots apiece with Rempel posting two shots on-goal.
- Senior Jessica Mahoney also notched two shots on-goal.
- Goalkeeper Noelle Hill tallied two saves in the loss.
