JACKSON, Miss. - In the final match of the 2017 season, the Belhaven men's soccer team used a second half rally to defeat the University of the Ozarks 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Belhaven Bowl Stadium in American Southwest Conference play.
The men's soccer team honored its seven seniors before the match. The list of seniors on this year's Belhaven squad include, Ryan Thomas, Bailey Hart, Drew Lanke, Jack Cutler, Sabi Malli, Sam Joy, and Somto Ngwudike.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A physical first half saw nine shots in total by both squads in the opening half.
- The Ozarks knocked in their first goal of match early on in the sixth minute of action.
- The Blazers had two great opportunities inside the box moments later, but were unable to even the match.
- Later on in the half, Mateus Holanda ripped a shot off of a free kick from 20 yards out off the crossbar, with Robert Mims scoring on the put-back for the Blazers' first goal to even the match at 1-1.
- In the second half, the Eagles jumped back out in front  at 2-1 after scoring in the 57th minute.
- Belhaven responded with a goal from Micah Taylor off of a corner kick in the 66th minute to tie up the match at 2-2.
- In the 81st minute, senior Somto Ngwudike scored the game-winning goal to put the Blazers ahead 3-2.
- The Blazers held off a late charge from the Ozarks to preserve the victory.
