MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Belhaven men's basketball dropped a close battle to Huntingdon College Tuesday evening in Montgomery, Ala., falling 62-61 to the Hawks.

With just over 13 minutes to play in the second half, the Blazers held a nine-point advantage over the Hawks. Victor Price and Ron Davis made a three-pointer each within the span of three minutes to propel Belhaven (2-8) to a 50-41 lead.

Huntingdon (1-10) battled back to tie the Blazers at 57-57, and a Charvez' Hobson three-pointer at the 4:47 mark gave the Hawks their first lead in nearly 29 minutes of game play.

Brandon Pressley made two foul shots on the following Belhaven possession to put the Blazers ahead 61-60, but the Green and Gold's offense was unable to score a point for the remainder of the game. With 31 seconds on the clock, Huntingdon's Andre Ashley converted a driving layup to give the Hawks a 62-61 lead.

The Blazers got out to a quick start in this one as senior forward DJ Young-Beasley drilled a three-pointer on the first possession of the ballgame. Davis made a layup on the ensuing Belhaven possession to give the Blazers a 5-0 lead.

After the Hawks clawed back to tie the game at 7-7, Terik Richardson drained a shot from behind the arc and Isiah Brown followed with a transition layup to put the Blazers ahead by five.

Huntingdon would go on a 13-7 run to take a 24-22 advantage over the Blazers with 7:35 remaining in the first half. Belhaven responded with a 9-0 run of its own to take a seven-point lead, its largest of the half. Davis knocked down a three while Pressley, Richardson and Dyron Anderson each made a layup.
